The Lumbini Festival is celebrated from the second Friday to Sunday in the month of December every year. It is celebrated in a grand scale in Hyderabad and Nagarjunasagar. The other major festivals observed in Andhra Pradesh apart from Lumbini Festival are Visakha Utsav, Deccan festival, Pearls and Bangles Fair, Rayalaseema Food and Dance Festival, Makar Sankranti, Maha Shivratri , Ugadi, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Pongal, Sri Krishna Jayanti and Diwali.
