Andhra Pradesh too being a state of India has many festivals of every region and religion which are celebrated throughout the year with equal pomp and joy. Festivities here are characterised by colour, gaiety, enthusiasm, feasts and a variety of prayers and rituals. Be it the age old traditional Hindu festivals or the Muslim festivity of brotherhood or Christmas. The diversity of the state is manifested in its people, languages, religions and cultures.
Andhra Pradesh owns a rich cultural heritage. Exquisite crafts, resonant religious festivals, assorted cuisine and the sound mother tongues are some of the indelible impressions of this state.
'Visakha Utsav' is organised by Andhra Pradesh Tourism every year, from the third Friday to Sunday of January. The Visakha Utsav is organised to bring together a kaleidoscope of brilliant hues.
The festival comprises of a variety of cultural programmes, sports events, food fair and exhibitions, fashion shows, trekking etc. |
