International Mango Festival in Delhi celebrating is around the month of July, during the time when the mangoes are found at their best. Organised by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) in collaboration with Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, National Horticultural Board and New Delhi Municipal Council, the two-day festival is showcasing a wide varieties of mangoes including alphonso, mallika, amrapali, himsagar, malda, balia, chorasya, dhaman, dhoon, fazia, gelchia, nigarin kheria, ruchika and shamasi.

The first day of the festival witnessed the participation of a large number of mango growers from across the country. Competition in the best category of mangoes including dussehri, chausa, langra, amrapalli, rataul and mallika was held in which a minimum of seven ripe mangoes were required for competing in each category. Competitions in the assorted mangoes and the biggest mango size categories were also held.

Besides a magic show by magician Iqbal, there was a mango eating competition for women. A cultural programme sponsored by Sahitya Kala Parishad also held on the first day. Demonstration of panna and squash preparation by expert scientists was held at regular intervals throughout the day.

The concluding day of the festival will see mango culinary demonstration, magic show, mango slogan writing, quiz, besides panna and squash preparation demonstrations. Also on the cards is a mango eating competition for men and also the prize distribution ceremony for the various participants.

Apart from providing an opportunity to visitors to savour the mangoes, the festival also offers a package deal of fun for adults and children. Other highlights of the festival are mango quiz, carving demonstrations and cultural programme.
