Kumbala Sri Gopalakrishna Temple is located at Kasaragod District in Kerala. It is one of the oldest temples in Kerala and the presiding deity here is God Gopalakrishna. According to the popular legend Krishna was born to Devaki. Devaki and her husband were imprisoned by the demon Kamsha because he knew that her son would kill him. But inside the prison, Krishna was born and with the help of God was transferred to Yashoda, another new mother of a girl child. This child was replaced by Devaki's son. He grew up to be a handsome man and had an enchanting personality.
