Ludhiana Jarag Mela Martyr Fair is one of the most popular fairs of Punjab. It is celebrated in the Pail Village. The Ludhiana Jarag Mela Martyr Fair is celebrated for the Mother Goddess Seetala. It is celebrated in the Indian month of Chaitra, that is sometime between March and April. The Ludhiana Mela attracts tourists from all over the country and is celebrated very ceremoniously with lot of passion.
The Ludhiana Jarag Mela Martyr Fair is also known as Beheria Mela. During this festival people gather around the pond to dig out mud from there. With this mud a shrine for Goddess Seetala is built. The mud of this pond is considered sacred by the devotees. The shrine made from this mud is then worshiped by the visitors. The prasadam of this puja comprises of jaggery. The jaggery is then offered to a donkey, her Vahana.
