About TheĀ  Thiruvanathapuram City :
Trivandrum, lying on the southwest coast of India, is the capital to the state of Kerala.The city derives its name from the deity at the Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswami Temple, one of the major landmarks of the place. Thiruananthapuram or Trivandrum retains its past glory of the capital of a princely state. The capital of Kerala in the southwestern tip of India, Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) or Syanandoorapuri is built on hills with wide-open spaces, sports stadia and low-lying paddy fields. Thiruvananthapuram is a district surrounded by the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats and derives its name from the deity at the Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswami Temple, one of the major landmarks of the city.

Thiruvananthapuram is, decidedly, one of the cleaner and well-planned cities of the country. The city`s scenic appeal, its enchanting beaches, and overwhelming greenery only add to its uniqueness. It embodies the magical feel of Kerala, as a whole, and lends terrific insight into the culture of the state. Kanakakunnu Palace :

It is situated 800meter NE of the Napier museum. It is where the Travancore royal family once entertained their guests is on top of a hill. Now it belongs to the Government. Today the palace and it`s sprawling grounds are the venue for many cultural meets and programmes. An all India Dance Festival (October to March) is organised by the Department of Tourism every year. During this period the classical Indian Dance Performances are conducted every day.

Sree Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple :
This is a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Sree Anantha Padmanabhaswamy temple possess an impressive structure that has a 100 ft high `gopuram`, built in Dravidian Style. The temple has a magnificent array of Gods, Goddesses, nymphs, spirits and demons that adorn the seven-storey `gopuram` that forms the temple tower. Only Hindus are allowed inside and dress regulations are strictly followed.

Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary :
This sanctuary spread over 53 sq. km on the Western Ghats, is accessible from Vithurai, which is on the way to Ponmudi. With its rich flora and fauna, Peppara, dotted with hillocks, forests and eucalyptus plantations, is emerging as a great attraction for wildlife enthusiasts

Vettukad Church :
The ‘Madre de Dens’ church popularly known as Vettukad church attracts thousands of devotees from all religions. The annual celebration here is called the ‘Feast of Christ the King’.

The Napier Museum :
Built in the 19th century, the indo - saracenic structure boasts a "natural" Airconditioning system and houses a rare collection of archaeological and historic artifacts, bronze idols, ancient ornaments, a temple chariot and ivory carvings. The use of plaxtic is banned in the museum premises.
