Jamshedpur is a well-known name in the industrial map of India. Established as an industrial town by Parsi Industrialist Jamshedji Tata in 1908, today Jamshedpur is a flourishing centre of Indian steel industry. In 1912, the first ingots from the Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO) rolled out. Established in the year 1949, XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) of Jamshedpur is one of India's top business schools. XLRI is the result of the vision of Father Quinn Enright of the Society of Jesus. One must not miss a visit to the campus of this institute while visiting Jamshedpur. The campus of the institute is located in a picturesque setting with the Dalma Hills as its northern background and the Tata Iron and Steel Company to the South. The institute is placed next to the Jubilee Park that never keeps the campus short of fresh air. A walk inside the institute is a wonderful experience.

On the northwest tip of the city of Jamshedpur is located the Rivers' Meet. This place is famous for its natural beauty and the atmosphere of its surroundings. It is one of the must-see sites while visiting Jamshedpur. The confluence of two rivers, namely the Kharkai and the Subarnarekha, the Rivers' Meet makes a wonderful picnic spot.

Another picturesque site to visit in Jamshedpur is the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is situated on the northern part of the Subarnarekha River stretching from east to west by about 16 km. It is easily accessible from the city by jeep. In the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary you can expect to see some wild elephants, barking deer, porcupines, leopards, tiger, etc.
