Mumbai Film City is also sometimes called Bollywood, the name inspired from Hollywood churning out thousands of Hindi movies that are shown across the world. The distinguished Film City took off as early as in the year 1911 coming out with India's first silent feature film.

A dream venture of the legendary cine-figure, Dada Saheb Phalke, Film City is today second only to Hollywood, the celebrated film industry of United States. The Film City has pioneered the whole concept of Hindi film making in India. Such has been the influence of the Film City on the Indian psyche that today the popular cine stars are worshipped and have a whopping fan following drooling over their appearance on and off the silver screen.

The Film City has all the state of the art technology to produce movies of high caliber and great visuals. No less than a dream world, the Film City conjures a world of its own that breathes a life, which is run by the demigods called directors. The film city is replete with makeshift recording rooms, gardens, lakes, theatres and grounds for fighting scenes.

The Film City is open to guests, but a prior permission is needed. If you know some one directly or indirectly related to the industry, your getting inside this surreal world becomes easy.

Major attractions:

The Bollywood (Film city) in Mumbai is located on the outskirts of the National park and close to the Aeray colony in Gurgaon. Normally civilians are restricted from this studio unless, they produce permission from relevant authorities. The Film city is nothing but a huge studio where many important functions of Hindi cinema like shooting, both indoors and outdoors, editing, recording, etc take place diligently. The major attractions of course are the real like sets complete with fake lakes, houses, fountains and the ever-famous trees and flowers essential to Bollywood. However, the principle attraction of this city is the possibility of witnessing real life shooting with Bollywood's most popular star cast.

Features:
