Day 01: Arrival at Mumbai Our representative will meet you at Mumbai International Airport on arrival and book you into a hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your hotel relaxing and shaking off the jet lag. Day 02: Mumbai Explore the many delights of India's financial and movie making capital. Visit the Gateway of India near Mumbai's harbor. Later, you will visit the Elephanta Caves, off Mumbai shore. Day 03: Mumbai- Trivandrum- Kovalam In the morning, you will be put on a flight to Trivandrum. On arrival, you will be taken directly from the airport to Kovalam, 2 hours' drive away. Once at Kovalam, check into a beach resort at Kovalam and spend the remainder of the day relaxing. Day 04: Kovalam- Cape Camorin- Kovalam You will go for a daylong visit to Cape Camorin, where you will see the Padmanabhapuram Palace among other places of interest. By evening, you will be back at Kovalam where you will stay overnight at your resort. Day 05: Kovalam - Varkala In the morning, you will be driven to Varkala, where you will check into a beach resort. Spend the day strolling on Varkala's pristine beaches or getting rejuvenating Ayurveda herbal sauna and massages. Day 06: Varkala- Kumarakom You will be taken to Kumarakom on a boat, cruising through the picturesque lagoons of Kerala. Check into a hotel and then spend the rest of the day relaxing. Day 07: Kumarakom Take one day to explore the beauty of this backwater country. You will go on a pleasant boat cruise, and disembark at Kumarakom Bird sanctuary. After coming back to your hotel in the afternoon, you can go water skiing and parasailing. Those who prefer to have quiet time, a boat ride on one of Kumarakom's lakes is a good option. Day 08: Kumarakom- Thekkady After lunch, you will be taken to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady through a route covering spice plantations and waterfalls. On arrival at Thekkady, you will check into a hotel near Periyar. Day 09: Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary Also known as Periyar National Park, this sanctuary's most famous denizens are its 30 odd tigers and herds of elephants. A guided tour of the park will help you identify the many kinds of rare plant, animal and bird species here. Take a boat ride on Periyar Lake, and see the wild elephants at play on the shores of the lake. Day 10: Thekkady- Munnar After breakfast, you will leave for Munnar, a picturesque hill station in the Western Ghats. After checking into a hotel at Munnar, you can spend the day relaxing at your hotel or touring the many nature trails in Munnar. Day 11: Munnar Visit the Anamudi Peak, and the surrounding woods. The Devikulum Lake near Munnar is a popular spot for picnics. After a pleasant day spent exploring Munnar, come back to your hotel for the night. Day 12: Munnar- Cochin From Munnar, you will be taken to Cochin, an old city of much historical importance. Check into a hotel at Cochin and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Day 13: Cochin Explore Cochin, its magnificent harbor lined with Chinese fishing nets, the old St. Francis Church where the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama had been buried, the old Jewish Synagogue, and the Dutch Palace that had been built by the Portuguese before being captured by the Dutch. Day 14: Cochin- Mumbai- Departure After breakfast, you will be taken to Cochin Airport from where you will catch a connecting flight to Mumbai. At Mumbai, you will be briefly booked into a hotel. Later, you will take a flight from Mumbai International airport for home. |
